Ater Oukiameden we crossed the High Atlas to Boulmane Dades. We arrived in the afternoon as planned and checked in at the hotel. When the light was getting better we headed into the semi-desert of the dirt track to Tagadilt.
Passing the dump, which is the place for all the local specialties we found one after the other target: Red-rumped Wheatear, Hoopie Lark and the Thick-billed Lark. Last is one hack of a monster, the enormous bill is out of proportion and quite unique in the lark family.
For me this and the Hoopoe Lark one of the WP species you just need to see in real life.
Na Oukaimeden staken we de Hoge Atlas over naar Boulmane Dades. In de namiddag kwamen we aan en checkte we in bij ons hotel. In de avond bezochten we gravelweg naar Tagadilt. Nabij de vuilstort zochten we naar de lokale specialiteiten: de Roodstuittapuit, Witbandleeuwerik en de Diksnavelleeuwerik. De laatste is een monster met een enorme snavel zoals geen ander onder de leeuweriken.
Voor mij zijn de Diksnavelleewerik en de Witbandleeuwerik, de vogelsoorten die je in de WP gezien moet hebben.
